The Macedonian tombs

The first tomb is a bicameral barrel-vaulted with Doric front of four half-columns. Its dimensions are 6.15m wide, 6.15m height and 10m long. The entrance door bore a stone relief. A second marble door at the entrance of the funeral chamber had relief Medusa head coloured and embossed. The tomb is logging of ancient graffiti and dedicatory inscriptions of the 1st century BC and the third century AD. The most important refers to Hercules and Alexander Hero. The tomb dates to the late 4th century BC and it was investigated in the summer of 1994. After the excavation, it was housed and fenced.
The second tomb is bicameral vaulted with Ionic front with four towering columns. It has width 4.70m and length 7.50m. Tinted mortar residues preserved on the walls brought performances and mirror box. It is preserved the stone base of the deathbed. It dates from around 300 BC based on the few finds recovered from the looting of ancient tomb. The excavation of the tomb began in the summer of 1994 and completed in August 1995.
