Edessa Folklore Museum
The Folklore Museum of Edessa is housed in a two-storey building of 1932 (donated by the family Sivena) in the district Varosi. Its operation started on the initiative of the Cultural Association "Great Alexander". It hosts exhibits, pictures and objects from everyday life, culture and manners and customs of the inhabitants of the city and the region. The areas covered relate to rural life, farming, textiles, etc. Special topics are the items from the life of man, toys, objects to the rituals and tools for household and professional use of traditional practitioners. The museum also has an excellent collection of women's and men's costumes - Macedonians, Vlach and refugee - highlighting the diversity of clothing in the city compared to that of the rural countryside. Finally, a collection of rare religious and educational books with a premier Old Testament in 1753.
